How do I export iPOGO survey comps to DXF format?

Export to DXF is available when processing a command file. The file format is DXF for AutoCAD Version 12. The point number, x, y, z and point code are exported as points and text to the DXF file along with the polyline entities, bearings, distances, areas, and lot numbers as text and extended entity data. Entities drawn on the layers defined in the 15.1 command are drawn on the same layers in the DXF file. The colors are also assigned to the entity instead of the layer to support Microstation style graphic entities. Line styles are not being exported due to the variability of styles in the target CAD system.

In the toolbar above the output window, select the Export DXF button. This presents a dialog box with text height, degree symbol character, and two drawing type options. The text height is also used for symbol sizes.

The LINES option produces DXF files with duplicated lines and text removed where possible. This drawing type is primarily used by CAD operators to reduce the amount of editing needed to produce a finished plat or plan. All of the lines and arcs are individual segments of polyline type and are plotted in 3D.

The PLINES option produces DXF files with closed polylines where the survey comps were closed, such as a lot or boundary. The calls for every line is included and no attempt is made to strip duplicate data. Lot or Figure numbers are also attached as extended entity data. This drawing type is used primarily by GIS operators for building coverages of closed figures without gaps and overlaps.
