How do I control the interactive graphics?

The Autodesk Whip! graphic control has built-in functions that are available by right-mouse clicking on the graphic area. A pop-up menu will display that contains the following options:

Keyboard Control

Pan and Zoom - use the arrow keys to pan in the 4 cardinal directions. Use the Page Up and Page Down keys to zoom in and out on the center point of the screen. Use the Home key to fit the entire drawing on the screen or zoom extents.



Mouse Control

Pan - selecting this option displays a hand on screen. Simply press the left mouse button to pick a point on the screen and hold down the button while dragging the screen in any direction. Let up on the mouse button to discontinue the pan operation.

Zoom - selecting this option displays a magnifying glass cursor. Holding down the left mouse button and dragging down on the screen zooms out, while dragging up on screen zooms in.

Zoom Rectangle - selecting this option displays a tic mark on the screen. Hold down the left mouse button and drag the cursor across the screen to define a window area that will display upon release of the mouse button.

Zoom to Fit Window - selecting this option will automatically fit the entire drawing on the screen or zoom extents.

Layers - selecting this option presents a dialog box containing layer names being displayed in the drawing. These layer names are defined in the 15.1 feature command and there is a corresponding text layer for each feature layer. Right mouse click on the Layer dialog box to select all or deselect all. Left mouse click on the light bulbs to toggle the displayed layers on and off.

Named Views - selecting this option presents a dialog of predefined views. The only view defined in the current release of iPOGO is the initial view or the drawing extents.

Location - selecting this option displays the computed coordinate location in the graphic control and is of no use to the surveyor. These are NOT survey coordinates! The true survey coordinates display constantly in the status bar at the bottom left on the graphic window.

Fullview - this option is not available.

Highlight URLs - this option is reserved for future development and is not available in this version.

Copy - selecting this option copies the current graphic screen to the clipboard.

Print - selecting this option displays the Print dialog box. Printing to scale is supported. The scale of the current view is displayed at the bottom right of the graphic control. To change the scale, simply key in the desired plan scale, ie 50 for a 50 scale view. Important! To print to scale, the File and Print Setup menu settings must correspond to the print settings in this popup menu option. See the printing/plotting FAQs for additional information.

Saveas - selecting this option presents a dialog box asking for the name and filetype to save for the current graphic view. Current supported graphic formats are DWF and BMP.

About - selecting this option presents an Autodesk Whip! dialog box that displays certain drawing characteristics as well as Autodesk Licensing and other related information.
