Data Description
Command

31

Used if the centerline is composed of a series of tangents and curves. Computes centerline stations for known points lying on or off the centerline. Computes offset distances perpendicular to a centerline tangent or radial to a centerline curve. Produces output which consists of a series of increasing stations and offset distances tabulated by station number.

To ensure that station values are computed properly, iPOGO checks each point to ascertain whether it precedes the point of Curvature (PC) or follows the Point of Tangency (PT).

If the initial section you enter using command 31 is a curve and there are points lying along the curve preceding the PC, then these points will be computed from the tangent at the PC.

Except for an initial tangent section, tangent sections are entered as point numbers on an adjacent curve. Continue into the next curve and/or tangent by using the alignment continuation command 300.

Note: If stations are out of numerical sequence in your output, then you should check for incorrect data or coordinates.

Note: Previous versions of iPOGO used a -1 flag to repeat the 31 command for the next curve and/or tangent sequence in the alignment. This created a situation where point ranges could not be implemented in the older versions. This version of iPOGO has implemented a new alignment continuation command 300 to alleviate this problem. iPOGO now supports point ranges in the 31 and 300 commands but no longer supports the -1 flag. All old command files should be modified correctly when imported by iPOGO, but should be verified by the user for accurate conversion to the new version. In addition, prior versions of iPOGO implemented the 31 command as 31,1. The ,1 served no purpose and has been dropped from this version.

Radius-Point

0

Number of the radius point of the initial curve. If the centerline begins with a tangent, enter a zero.

PC

7

Point number of the initial point of curvature (PC) or the centerline tangent point.

Station

1000

Starting station value (in feet) of the PC or the initial point on the tangent.

PT

11

Point number of the point of tangency (PT) or the final point on the tangent.

Point#
{[Point#]..}

139, -142

Numbers of points lying either on or off the defined curve or tangent section. A maximum of 50 numbers may be entered for each curve or tangent section. If the defined section is a curve, also enter any points lying along the following tangent section, but do not enter the point number for the PC of the next curve ahead. Point ranges are acceptable as shown in this version of iPOGO.

End Command

;

All commands end with a semi-colon.

Alignment
Continuation
Command

300

Optional repeating feature of the 31 command. Continues station and offset calculations by carrying the existing stationing from the prior 31 or 300 command and continuing around next curve segment.

Radius-Point

10

Number of the radius point of the next curve.

PC

11

Point number of the next point of curvature (PC).

PT

12

Point number of the next point of tangency (PT).

Point#
{[Point#]..}

153, -167

Numbers of points lying either on or off the defined curve or tangent section. A maximum of 50 numbers may be entered for each curve or tangent section. If the defined section is a curve, also enter any points lying along the following tangent section, but do not enter the point number for the PC of the next curve ahead. Point ranges are acceptable as shown in this version of iPOGO.

End Command

;

All commands end with a semi-colon.
