-17 or Define Corners

Methodology

Command:-17
Alpha Alias:Define Corners
Description:Defines rear lot corners for automatic point intersection with subsequent commands
Data Format: -17 Rear-Point Rear-Point {[Rear-Point] ..} ;
Problem: Given the points and lines defining the outside boundary and access right-of-way for a proposed subdivision. Define the outside boundary points to be automatically intersected with other computing commands and compute a 37 lot subdivision as shown in the example data file below.

Data Description

Command

-17

Defines rear lot corners for automatic point intersection with subsequent commands.

To automatically compute and store rear lot intersections, execute the -17 command before using the computing comands 1, -1, 1.2, 1.4, 2, -2, 2.2 and -2.2.

While the -17 command is active, use these commands to compute the front lot corners and have the rear lot corners intersected radially. The new points will be numbered automatically from the first front lot corner set. Front lot corners are numbered in increasing increments of two. Point numbers for rear lot corners are numbered one greater than the point numbers for their companion front lot corners.

Note: Commands 3, 4, and 5 can be used while the -17 command is defined but will not produce rear lot corner intersections from points computed by these commands.

You cancel the definition of the rear lot corners resulting from a -17 command in one of two ways. Enter another -17 command which defines a new set of rear lot corners, or enter -17 ; with no lot corners included.

Point numbers of previously computed points which define the rear lot corners in sequence. All rear lines defined with this command must be straight.

All commands end with a semi-colon.
